One of his rewards for his potty training was a Big Boy Room. He was happy in his crib but due to the amount of "friends" he required at night, I found his legs poking through the spindles on a few occasions and figured it was time to upgrade.
Most of the furniture/furnishings were re purposed from other rooms in the house but I did purchase a few new items to make the room his own. The string of dots curtains and the chambray duvet I ordered from Land of Nod.
The quilt set the stage for the rest of the room and was a gift from my grandma and grandpa Armstrong last year for Christmas - I LOVE gifts with meaning and memories, don't you?
The yellow cabinet used to hold my grandpa Jack's sweaters and is one of my most favorite pieces in my entire house! The little bamboo chair belonged to my grandma Alice and the little side table was made by Josh's grandpa Gordy and given to us at Christmas as well.
The gallery wall and the linen covered "bulletin board" are both works in progress.. on purpose. I love adding treasures as his little life goes along and he becomes interested in different things.
Sweet Charlie has seemed to really enjoy his new room and so do we - I can say that since I spend about 45 minutes sleeping there every night while I am waiting for him to go to sleep!
