"March Madness"

What a month... here we go again.. I'm kicking myself for this monthly post rut I seem to be in! I'm not sure where the time goes but for some reason I can't find the time to drag myself up to the computer quite often enough.

We have had a pretty low key month filled with lots of family and friends! Isn't that the best? Our weather has been so wonderful and we have been taking every advantage.

We kicked off the month with a cookout complete with Josh's infamous cheeseburgers! We also celebrated Sweet Clay's 2nd birthday with some yummy chocolate cake by Kim. These two are swimming buddies from the beginning and have so much fun together!

Clay Clay and his mama

Not to be overshadowed,
Charlie needed the candles re lit for "his birthday."

Caught him in my cookie cutters during a Sunday clean out!

We had a visit the next weekend from Josh's family and we jammed it full of fun activities! Cooking out, playing outside, a Bass Pro visit, ice cream and much much more!

Sunday Charlie and I sang Happy 2nd Birthday to Miss Harlow during her gymnastics party! Charlie of course had a wonderful time, bee-bopping back and forth between the stations, screaming all the way with excitement.

Josh headed to Denver for work the next week. I always enjoy that one on one time with my little boy! I took the day off on Friday so we could just hang... we hit all the hot spots.

Sams for strawberries, then Chic Fil A to pick up lunch for our play date with William and Anna Claire. It was a wonderfully warm afternoon so we spent it outside.

That night my parents came up for BBQ, Bass Pro and Andy's. This combination makes for the perfect night in Charlie Habel's book!

Saturday, Charlie and I hit Target for a special treat (Lightning McQueen remote control car) since he had been such a good listener for his mama all weekend. We packed up a picnic lunch and headed the park. I'm not going to lie, I love that time with my sweet boy but it can wear a mama out! During nap time I thought, I'll just grab a quick snooze here on the couch... I woke up to Charlie squealing out his window "Hewwwoooooooowww????" So much for that! After that short nap we had a quiet night at home anxiously awaiting Josh's return.
Sunday we had church and then our first trip to the zoo this season. Charlie couldn't decide which animal he liked best, he was such fun especially with the goats.

Josh hit the couch to catch up on golf/basketball and I hit the door to get some things done sans the little guy!

We are LOVING the long days and light filled nights of spring. We spend every night outside soaking up this unseasonably warm weather we have been blessed with.

Josh and Charlie have been really dishing out the TLC towards our yard! Lot's of seed and lot's of water. It's all really paying off because our grass is greener then it has ever been.

We really do have the most beautiful bradford pear trees.

I love this one... the grass king checking the weather report for rain while watering his seed.

I packed Charlie up on Monday and sent he and Josh down I-44 to meet Baba. Carthage, Missouri --- Spring Break 2012!  Unfortunately there was a lot of rain that week in Carthage so they didn't really get to do all the fishing they had planned on doing but they managed to still have a good time with the earth worms they acquired for bait. One morning when I called Charlie said they were making pancakes and playing with sneaky snakes.... great, that's sanitary. Josh and I discussed several times throughout the week how what happens at the grandparent's house stays there. We were both raised with grandparents who spoiled us rotten and we turned out ok??? RIGHT??? After being rained out all week Charlie and Grandpa packed some PB and J's and headed back to Springfield to fish on Thursday at Fellow's Lake. My dad went in to the water to catch a craw dad  and it's all Charlie talked about for about 24 hours! What a great grandpa!

Aggie came to visit to top off our spring break! She came in late on Thursday night and left yesterday. Aunt Aggie always amazes me with her creativity and the love she has for her nephew. She is so sweet to want to spend her vacation days in Springfield with us and we had such a great time during her visit. I took Friday off so we could get lots of good time in together. We made a trip to Sam's where I had the pleasure of pushing both of them in the cart... quite the work out. And then lunch at chic-fil-a... do you see a pattern? Thankfully Friday was the last of the rainy days for the week. We were ready for some sunshine. Aunt Aggie gave Charlie an early Easter gift.. A bubble machine! And it is a HUGE hit!

I see this little one.. covered in dirt for the next few months! Lot's of baths in our future!

I have more pics, from my phone to add to this post... Just wanted to get it up before any more time goes by - Check back!
