We had a whirlwind Halloween Week! This year was so much fun though! We kicked it off with a party at school on Thursday. Charlie's teachers were so sweet to plan such a fun get together. All the moms came with their cameras, we had lots of treats and then handed out our fun bags to all his classmates. Charlie gave Toy Story toothbrushes to all his friends this year.. thanks dad! This was the first time we had worn our costume and I was a little nervous about getting it on him. When he saw it for the first time he was a big intimidated by the claws on the hands and feet. But he did great.

On the Saturday afternoon before Halloween for the past two years we have attended the Russell's Party. They have all kinds of fun games for the kids, great food and everyone is all dressed up. It is held at Drew and Clay's grandpa's barn and we could not have asked for a more beautiful afternoon!

Sunday afternoon we stayed close to home. Getting things ready for Monday night's trick or treaters. It was another great fall day and we spent most of the day outside. Charlie and I made a trip to the pumpkin stand for our pumpkins to carve - he talked me into 4 mini gourds too! He is becoming so independent now... the life of a two year old I guess.
Loved this ... he had to do some mini gourd hauling in his new truck!
After dinner we worked on some more projects:
Pumpkin Carving (that Josh took over since I was too impatient and Charlie couldn't play with the sharp tools) and dinosaur Halloween cookie icing (this was more Charlie and I's speed).
This was Charlie's cookie he kept nibbling on...
Halloween morning we woke up to LOTS of presents.
Our family all brought and dropped his gifts over his birthday
and it made the morning so special - and sugary!
Our neighborhood is known for being a great trick or treating spot. We get hundreds of children and it was a great night so there was a great turnout! We always have lots of friends come too. I made chili and Josh smoked ribs and brats. It's always a fun time.
Henry, Anna Claire, William, Charlie, Kadyn and Koy
Mom Friends: Kim, Mindy, Me and Melissa
William really helped Charlie this year. Treat or Treat they would yell. So sweet!
Aunt Fancy came along too!
More Friends: Jack, Curry, William, Anna Claire, Francie Claire and Charlie
One more treat - his birthday present from Fancy and Chapman all the way from SF!
Here are some pics of Josh's finished products!
A+ on the carving honey - think this will be your job every year!
What a great night!
