The Habels have a new blogspot!

Welcome to our blog... I have been working on this since last weekend I guess. It has been difficult to choose between the seven hundred or so pics we have taken since Charlie has come into our lives. We hope this a way we can keep everyone.. family and friends.. closer in the loop on Charlie's day to day progress. Having so many loved ones out of town I am thankful we are able to post these tidbits and pictures of Sweet Charlie's life.

We are all doing well, settling into our day and night routine. Charlie is a great sleeper, waking me up in the night every three hours for a feeding. And (most of the time) passing right back out after a quick diaper change. Each day I learn more and more about what works and what doesn't.

There are several times a day I will just look down at him and think, I can't believe you are here. What a blessing motherhood is. I am so thankful for the time we are able to spend together throughout the day, but happy to pass him over and just watch as he bonds with Josh in the evening.

Have I mentioned I have a wonderful husband? Josh is doing so well.. picking right up where I leave off. He loves kissing Charlie on the lips and I find him sneaking home throughout the work day just to love on him for the two minutes he might have free.

I am also thankful for our wonderful group of friends... all the home cooked meals have been wonderful and so helpful. I am also blessed with a wonderful circle of new moms surrounding me each step I take. The support from these girls, you know who you are, has been overwhelmingly needed and so appreciated! I could not have made it through those first few days with out them!

So today is a new day... the sun is shining, I have had my cup of coffee, my wonderful friend Betsy has already dropped off our dinner for tonight, and my snugly son is fast asleep on my lap. I don't know how life could get much better than this. Thank you God.

More pics this afternoon. xoxo

  1. I feel totally privaleged that I got to spend last week with the three (oops four--sorry Gus) of you. It was a wonderful experience that I will always remember. Josh and Alice you are the best parents Little Charlie could ever ask for. I am so proud of the way you two handled the learning experience with Charlie---and the respect that you show for each other is amaizing. I can't wait to come back to see you I miss the heck out of all of you.
