This had to be our most fun Easter with Charlie yet. This one loves a good holiday like his mama.
He was so excited at the thought of the bunny hiding eggs (mostly the candy filled) and so attentive in Sunday School during the weeks leading up to Easter Sunday, always reporting back what they had learned that morning.
Charlie's Easter egg hunt at school was moved indoors because of the rain but it was still lots of fun!
Josh picked Lucy up at the airport during the party and our fun family weekend was in full swing. My parents arrived around 5 and Aggie and her beau Tommy pulled in the drive just in time for dinner. We had a wonderful evening and packed up the car on Saturday morning for the trip to Sedalia to be with the rest of the fam. My cousins and their children were waiting for us - we had lunch and sent the boys on for a round of golf while we carried on the tradition of egg dying and cookie icing!
We had a nice visit with Grandma Alice at her place before heading out for a Mexican dinner.
The next morning we were greeted by a basket on our hotel room door and then another at Uncle Jim and Aunt Lisa's house. We participated in a quick egg hunt and then off to church for Easter service.
Sweet Ava - sharing eggs with Charlie.
We all laughed at the size of Henry's basket
Hopefully he will grow into it!
Ava always finds the golden egg!
Here's a good shot of her rubbing it in.
We stopped in for Easter kisses with Big Grandma and then headed to the club for brunch.
Charlie told us this year he was going to give the bunny big hugs - and he did, no fear this year!
The sweetest group of second cousins you ever did see!
Thankful for each and every one of these smiling faces!
We kissed that side of the family goodbye and made our way down the road to
Butler to my aunt and uncle's farm to celebrate with the Armstrong side!
Luca was eagerly waiting Charlie's arrival.
These two always have the best time on Uncle Larry's farm.
Uncle Larry was full of surprises on Easter.
We got to feed the horses
Watch the border collies work the sheep
Hold a baby lamb
Take a 4-wheeler ride
Take a tractor ride
Roast weenies and smores
Hunt eggs
Blow Bubbles
Play basketball
You name it "Camp Burch" has got it.
It was a beautiful afternoon to love on our family and celebrate such a meaningful holiday!
I think the pictures will speak for themselves. This group knows how to have a good time.
The sun was shining -
and Grandma Lucy's presence was felt.
Dad busted with Charlie's candy
How often I find myself frustrated with the ins and outs of every day life.
A weekend with loved ones really has a way of grounding you and highlighting all that is good in this life we are living day in and day out! Blessed to serve a risen savior.
