Pre School Program and Party

If I haven't said it before... I'll say in now. We love Charlie's school. He has attended PDO since I went back to work when he was 12 weeks old and this year he has been thriving in the 2 year old preschool program taught by our beloved sitter Miss Terri.

At the beginning of Charlie's school year we received a calendar assigning moms to holiday parties. I found myself tagged on Christmas - a task I couldn't have been more excited about! I was UP for the challenge and thrilled for the opportunity to make it special for Charlie and his little friends. Of course my mom offered to come up and help make sure the party ran smoothly, and I couldn't have done it without her. Josh manned the camera and Grandpa was there too - for support of course.

The party started with a program they had been rehearsing with Miss Terri that consisted of three songs - "Jingle Bells" "Happy Birthday to Jesus" and "We wish you a Merry Christmas." Charlie likes to sing - at night before bed we sing songs before we say our prayer. We had been rehearsing our songs for the program for weeks and Miss Terri had reported that he was doing an excellent job in class with the songs and had become the class leader with his strong voice.

With that said... NOTHING could prepare me for what would come out of that child's mouth that morning. It was an out of body experience for both Josh and I, my parents as well. A proud moment, where we were laughing and crying at the same time. Monotone and LOUD were the themes and that boy almost passed out on several occasions "leading the class" - pay attention to the color of his skin in a few of the pics... He seemed to enjoy himself and proved he has a real stage presence. So, with that said - I HAVE TO figure out how to get the videos off the camera and ON the computer and as soon as I do - boy are you in for a treat!

After the program it was PARTY time.
We crafted two wooden ornaments, and a reindeer visor first.

And then moved on to sugar cookie icing!

I read the class a book, we snacked and everyone had a great time.
The memories that are made this time of year are priceless and I am so thankful for Charlie's little school and all the ways they are shaping him into the sweet baby boy he is becoming!

After the party, Charlie loaded up with Grandma and Grandpa and headed to Carthage for a few nights, while mom and dad hopped on a plane and headed to KC for the night! This is the second year the Davis' have treated us to a fun night away right before Christmas. We drink, eat, shop, drink some more and take in all the Country Club Plaza has to offer during this Christmas season. It is a wonderful time away and we appreciate it more than they might ever know!

Wednesday night Charlie made his way back home in time for his choir performance at church.
He had only been to about 4 of the rehearsals but we worked on the song at home and he nailed all the words and motions to "Away in a Manger" Quite the performer, this one!

Such great times, with more holiday events to come!
