We had THE most wonderful
4th of July holiday this year!
I've said it before.... We LOVE our neighborhood -
Halloween is the best but the 4th of July comes in a close second on the best days to live in Oak Knoll.
This year we invited some of Charlie's friends to
participate and we were pleasantly surprised
and proud of our representation!
We were also lucky enough to host my
dear cousin Regan, her husband JR
and their darling little offspring Henry!
The made it to Springfield for the parade and then followed us down South to the river for the weekend too!
Everyone did such an awesome job on their floats and their patriotic gear! The walk was HOT but worth it and we marched home to doughnuts on the back patio at our house.
Thanks to all who come and "paraded" with us.
The Russell Brothers
Anna Claire and William Ross
Regan pulling Henry and Charlie
Scott and the boys
Charlie and his bud Hudson
Davis from next door
and his little brother John Henry making his debut in the parade
It took some teamwork!
Sweet Beau
Elsie Larsen cruisin on two wheels these days.
The mom and dad to be who decided to sit it out this
year and drink coffee on the porch!
What a crew - and what a fun tradition!
After the parade we loaded the cars and headed down
60 toward the Current River. Charlie had been talking about it for weeks ... couldn't wait to be at the cabin with
Aggie, LuLu, grandma and baba!
A few hours later we were on the water... AHHH relaxation!
Let me run down our schedule at the river:
sleep in
drink/eat/relax
river
drink/eat/relax
river
nap
drink/eat/relax
laugh
bed
The following pictures will illustrate just that.
Aunt Aggie is always good with the crafts.
Happy Birthday to our dad - 61 years young.
Probably the best picture he has EVER taken too!
We successfully killed several more minnows this trip.
Dogs LOVE toddlers
Henry and his friend the peach
My parent's neighbors have a SERIOUS garden project going and the boys were thrilled to see the tractor out and about.
Sweet Jerry was kind enough to offer lots of rides.
Love my time with these ladies.
What a wonderful family weekend
4th of July 2012 was one for the books!
The rest of this family not pictured...
you know who you are
You better be marking that calendar for next year!
Aggie's bday gift for dad.
She made him a display board for all his flys.
Isn't it great!
Quite the collection...
fun with "wolfie"
When can we go back?
Love that laid back River life.
