I have been meaning to post this post for a while now...
We have been in our house for almost two years. Hard to believe! We love so many aspects of living where we live, each season I say I love being in our home more. In the spring and summer our neighborhood comes alive with such beautiful blooms, bike riders, dog walkers and the sounds of children playing in their yards. In the fall the leaves can't be beat and the smell of fireplaces burning fill the air. We have a large and lovely yard, thanks to my weekend warrior Josh, but we have never felt like we have used it to its full potential.
The couple who built our house added a lovely patio with a darling fountain and small sitting area but it has never felt very efficient to us. No room for dining or entertaining and with the wall (although the tile was unique) blocked off the rest of the back yard. Sooooo, this spring we decided to do something about it. We have been working with a landscape architect since last fall on plans and they are finally being carried out! It is mass chaos - grand central station at our house but it is all slowly coming together.
So far - lot's of demolition. They started last Thursday and in one afternoon pretty well cleared out the existing patio. Since then three trees are down and we are moving forward rapidly. Stay tuned. Josh and I couldn't be more excited to see the end result and start getting some great use out of what is already a great back yard!
SINCE THEN....
Progress is moving on rapidly. (We have been very pleased with Garnet & Company if anyone in the area is looking for someone.) As of today... the wall is up and the brick is capping off the top. They will soon add the stucco and pour the concrete and the sidewalk. We are anxious to see the finished product.
They are set to pour the concrete tomorrow!
