School Christmas Party

Last Thursday was Charlie's Christmas party at school. He decided he wanted take doughnut holes for all his friend, and candy canes of course. Josh picked up the doughnuts on his way home from the YMCA that morning and brought Charlie home a special surprise - "a sprinkle one!" A big treat since we usually have to wait until Saturday for our doughnut surprise. His hair was HILARIOUS on this particular morning as well. Thank goodness we went in for our holiday cut on Friday!

Here we are at the party... crafting!

Link and his glitter - I think the teachers will think twice about this next time!

Daddy came to the party too! Charlie was so excited!

When we came home Mee-Maw and BaBa were there!
My mom had found the sweetest Woody and Buzz ornaments for Charlie's tree - he was thrilled.
Had to pry them out of his little hands for a nap I'm sure!

My parents were in town for the Manheim Steamroller concert that night - we had a wonderful dinner and time with them at the show. Friday, Josh and Charlie finished up some Christmas chores and we were happy to dine on some pizza and spend the night at home. Lot's of Xmas celebrations last week!

Still more to come this week - I can't believe we are only a week away from the big day! This time of year is always so fun and I feel like that times ten with that sweet little two year old around!

More December Fun.

Last week was one for the books. FUN FUN FUN. Josh and I had a night away impromptu trip to Kansas City. Plaza Lights, great food, wine and Xmas shopping - great adult time away. Charlie was in good hands spending Tuesday - Thursday at Baba and Memaw's house. He gets so excited to see Max and Cocoa (my parent's dogs) and I know he has the best time when he is in Carthage! It snowed on Tuesday which made us second guess our trip to KC, my dad arrived that morning to pick Charlie up and when I told him we were considering staying home he said - "This isn't an Indian giving situation, he's coming to Carthage with me!" What a blessing to have such wonderful grandparents just an hour away!

We came home from KC on Wednesday and Josh went to the MSU game with friends and I had dinner with an oldie but goodie - my dear friend Janeen was in town. Pizza at McSalty's was such a great opportunity to catch up, just like old times. Blessings like those make this time of year complete for me!

Mom and dad stayed in town for dinner on Thursday when they returned our son - And Friday we had a Christmas party with friends.

Saturday, Josh was out and about doing Christmas errands and Charlie and I were quite content in our PJ's for most of the day. Wrapping, baking, decorating and watching Xmas movies - perfect little Saturday in my world.

Charlie has two advent calendars this year. One with chocolate kisses (his favorite) and one with little ornaments to hang on a tree from that Grandma gave us at the beginning of the season. Every morning after breakfast we have our kiss and hang our pretty. Most of the time we can't stop at just one we have several pieces of chocolate and hang a few ornaments- two year olds can't quite understand "Just One" or at least mine can't!

Sunday after church we headed to Hickory
for brunch with Anna Claire, William and SANTA!

Great weekend that kicked off a CRAZY week of
more holiday parties, packages arriving at the front door,
crafts and utter chaos at the Habel house.
Josh and I agree (on a daily basis)
we wouldn't have it ANY other way!
Merry Merry!
