Let the Celebration Begin...

I knew my birthday would be special, special year with special family and friends. I knew Josh wouldn't disappoint - he would organize some sort of a soiree to make me feel like I was queen for a day.

I had NO IDEA he would go to the great lengths he did to do the things he did - in such a wonderful way. My birthday was special - because of special family and friends - and the ringleader that orchestrated it all - My Husband. Thank you Josh, you are over the top!

Towards the beginning of the year my cousin Whitney, cousin Regan, and chosen cousin Elisha and I started to plan a weekend visit. They all wanted to see the new house and of course do a little retail damage - you know I am ALWAYS up for retailing! So we decided on the weekend of Feb. the 19th. They would all drive in - with Regan's husband JR and darling baby bundle Hank (Henry) on Saturday and we would paint the town!

So they came - Elisha first - and then the Shoemaker girls - and then my sisters - and with them LuLu's friend from NYC Blair - and then my parents - and then two more wonderful cousins from KC (Josie and Elena) - and then yet another cousin Jess ....

WHAT A SURPRISE!!!! Everyone together - driving/flying all that way to celebrate with little ol' me??

We shopped, and shopped, ate, and ate, drank wonderful wine and laughed until we couldn't laugh any more - we are getting older and a lot of us are now boring old moms!

It was everything and more I could have ever dreamed my 30th Bday would be - and it wasn't over yet. We all had a big breakfast at the house - prepared by my loving husband - I opened some lovely gifts , and the KC/ Quincy folks were on their way.

My sisters and parents spent the day with us. Lounging, eating more, and playing at the park. The highlight of Charlie's weekend. Pics to come next.

What a fabulous way to kick off my thirties! Thanks so much to all who made it the wonderful weekend that it was.. I'll never forget it! xoxo
