Let the Celebration Begin...

I knew my birthday would be special, special year with special family and friends. I knew Josh wouldn't disappoint - he would organize some sort of a soiree to make me feel like I was queen for a day.

I had NO IDEA he would go to the great lengths he did to do the things he did - in such a wonderful way. My birthday was special - because of special family and friends - and the ringleader that orchestrated it all - My Husband. Thank you Josh, you are over the top!

Towards the beginning of the year my cousin Whitney, cousin Regan, and chosen cousin Elisha and I started to plan a weekend visit. They all wanted to see the new house and of course do a little retail damage - you know I am ALWAYS up for retailing! So we decided on the weekend of Feb. the 19th. They would all drive in - with Regan's husband JR and darling baby bundle Hank (Henry) on Saturday and we would paint the town!

So they came - Elisha first - and then the Shoemaker girls - and then my sisters - and with them LuLu's friend from NYC Blair - and then my parents - and then two more wonderful cousins from KC (Josie and Elena) - and then yet another cousin Jess ....

WHAT A SURPRISE!!!! Everyone together - driving/flying all that way to celebrate with little ol' me??

We shopped, and shopped, ate, and ate, drank wonderful wine and laughed until we couldn't laugh any more - we are getting older and a lot of us are now boring old moms!

It was everything and more I could have ever dreamed my 30th Bday would be - and it wasn't over yet. We all had a big breakfast at the house - prepared by my loving husband - I opened some lovely gifts , and the KC/ Quincy folks were on their way.

My sisters and parents spent the day with us. Lounging, eating more, and playing at the park. The highlight of Charlie's weekend. Pics to come next.

What a fabulous way to kick off my thirties! Thanks so much to all who made it the wonderful weekend that it was.. I'll never forget it! xoxo

More Snow Day Fun.

I have a lot to catch up on tonight... lots and lots has happened since February the 7th (my last post) Seriously, where do the days go?

Here are some pics of yet another Snow Day.. hopefully the last... Josh and Charlie had an absolute blast and the snow was just right for playing. We sledded, built a snowman and trampled around as much as we could, then we were ready for it to GO!

Hurry Hurry Spring! xo, the Habel Family.

Willam's Birthday

Here are the pics I promised from William Ross' 2nd Birthday Party. This is a pic of everyone participating in the fun entertainment Miss Kim provided for the party, Miss Ellen from Kindermusic class. She had lots of fun instruments and sang lots of fun songs. Notice who is missing... my son and husband, off wondering somewhere with a balloon tied to his shirt. This party totally confirmed the kindermusic is a waste of the Habel family's money, for now.

Happy Birthday Bill... Thanks for the balloon and cake ! Love, Chuck.

Cabin Fever.

Sweet Charlie Boy didn't leave the house from Monday to Saturday last week. It was a long snowed in break but he didn't seem to mind. We still had lots of fun and got a ton of stuff done around the house.

The snow moved in on Monday night and by the time it was over on Tuesday night we had over a foot. It was too pretty. Josh and I stayed home Tuesday and Wednesday which was really nice to just watch the snow fall and hang with our little family. Thursday we both headed back to work but Charlie stayed home with Miss Sarah and Friday was a boys day with dad. Josh was supposed to head to Chicago on Friday afternoon to be with his old team in Gary, Indiana for a fan weekend but because of the weather had to stay home.

Saturday we ventured out to the next neighborhood to celebrate our good friend William Rosses' Birthday. More pics to come and then they joined us at our house for some Mexican take out on Saturday night.

Yeah for getting out and about today and hopefully Charlie being back in school tomorrow!
