This post is looonngggg overdue. I thought I had published it a while back... moving can turn a brain to mush!
So... much has happened since Charlie hit the big 9 Month mark... on the actual day (the 23rd) he took his first crawl. It was towards the bath mat and one of my hair ties- of all the interesting things I put before him on a daily basis - this is what he goes after... either way, he is mobile now. In the beginning it was just for select things, cookies, remote controls and I Phones at the top of the list. Now he is everywhere! But we love it.
Charlie and I have just returned from a road trip to Dallas, Texas. We had a great time. Last week my Aunt Lisa, and Cousins Regan and Whitney made their way to Springfield on Wednesday, we had dinner here at the house and then I took them out for the grand tour of the new house.
Thursday they were kind enough to tote Charlie around and my mom came up to meet them for lunch. We were on the road that afternoon and headed to the BIG D. This is a tradition I guess we have carried on for three years now. Just a girl cousin get away down to see our second cousin Lucy... it is such a fun weekend that we all look forward to each year...
Friday was spent lounging by the pool and thank goodness for the pool in that Dallas heat! Lucy flew in that afternoon and Aggie later that evening. We had a wonderful visit with my Great Aunt Margie and then Cousin Lucy cooked us each a lobster for dinner - fancy fancy I know! It was too fun!
Saturday we hit Northpark Mall and man did we do some damage. We payed another visit to Aunt Margie that afternoon and then headed out for Mexican that night. Sunday was another day on the road with a quick stop in Carthage to stretch our legs and play with Grandma Sally.
It was so great to see my sisters and I know Charlie enjoyed it just as much if not more than I did. He was such an angel baby - just went along for the ride - I am turning him into quite the retailer (much to Josh's dismay I am sure). I owe a huge thanks to all the girls for all the extra help as well - it made my weekend somewhat relaxing! My family is so wonderful and I wouldn't trade any of them for the world, we have such a great time getting together and I hope we are always as close as we are right now! Thanks to Lucy as well for letting us all come and turn your house upside down for the weekend and for always having double stuff oreos! You are the best hostess EVER and we love you and look up to you more than you will EVER know...Thanks for being such a special part of each of our lives!
