Turning 33

I love birthdays ... I'm not sure what year that will end ... but so far turning 33 has been pretty great.

My boys spoiled me with lots of great gifts, sweet cards and sweet treats.
We gathered for pizza and bowling with friends for the third year straight.
And mom and dad came up and treated us to Charlie's first Japanese Steak House experience.

Overall ... it was a pretty super weekend!

President's Day at the Lake

On the Sunday of Presidents' Day weekend we loaded up for an overnight trip to the Russell's Lake cabin. The sun was shining and the temperatures were in the 50's. We soaked up the spring like weather ... cooked out ... played legos ... tossed rocks into the lake ... and just enjoyed the company of friends!

We LOVE Valentines Day!

My mother always did the most wonderful job of making each and every holiday oh so special at our house. Decorations, special meals and gifts surrounded these calendar days and my sisters and I looked forward to each celebration. I have made a real effort to carry this tradition on in my own home and it is so fun to surprise Charlie! During those winter months - it helps to raise everyone's spirits as well.

We decorated home made valentines to send to our out of town family a few weeks before.

Some might say we over do it ...

Charlie had an extra fun party at school -
we made heart shaped bird feeders and had yummy treats!

That night we opted for a quiet night at home - we made home made pizzas on the grill!
Such a fun tradition!

2013

For the last few years I have put together a Habel Family calendar.
It's always such fun to go back and look at everything we did throughout the year.
Here are a few I used for 2013.
