Engagement Soiree in Iowa

We made our annual summer trip to Iowa at the end of July.
This year we also tied in hosting an engagement party for Aunt Monica and her fiance Bart!

We had lots of fun on Nana and Papa's farm with their new puppies. Did some swimming, visited with family, saw friends and celebrated with the soon to be married couple.

Charlie loved these puppies so much, 

and insisted on checking on them about every 15 minutes.

The party was lots of fun. The weekend overall was unseasonably cool - I'm talking 50 degrees. We were all a little under dressed for the festivities but we made the best of it with a fire and some smores! It was a fun party and a way for lots of friends and family to gather and celebrate such a wonderful couple.

Looking forward to the wedding weekend in December!

Charlie attended Vacation Bible School for the first time this year.
He enjoyed it so and had lots of stories and reports every night for us when he came home!

Here he is anxiously awaiting his class - when I checked him in he told the volunteer " I never been to vacation bible school before..."
