Spring has sprung

The Master Gardner has been busy...
and he has a cute new sidekick!
You may notice a new big black truck.
Josh is finally driving his dream - an F-150 and man has he put it to work! He's hauled: trees, mulch, dirt, rock, you name it...
Our yard is in the process of never looking better.

In other Habel Family News... we joined a local country club and are looking forward to the activities ahead for sweet Charlie. And there is the golf ... oh the golf ... Josh has died and gone to heaven. He's taking Charlie with him too ... literally, he ordered Charlie his own set of clubs last week and we may have the next Tiger on our hands.

We attended an "Old Fashioned Carnival" event they hosted at the end of April and had a wonderful time! It was a beautiful day and several of Charlie's friends were in attendance. It was a great day, complete with bounce houses, face painting, balloon animals, and funnel cakes.

Love that little strong man!

Mother's Day 2013

My mother.... it is impossible to sum her up in a blog post. She posses many qualities that make her the most amazing mother to each one of her girls. One quality that stands above any other to me is the way she has always let us become individuals. Never holding us back from dreams we may want to chase and always supporting us in adventures we may want to take. She is one of the most stylish women I know, so much that my sister's and I laugh about choices we make that seem to mirror her on a regular basis. She has helped me make my house a home. She was the queen of making us feel special no matter what. She's a good one and I'm proud to call her MINE!

I had a lovely Mother's Day. My boys always do it right!
My mother chose to spend the day in Carthage so we joined them for their church service and then lunch. My mom outdid herself with Barefoot Contessa's shrimp scampi and strawberry shortcake.

We spent the afternoon in the shade, on their back deck, watching Charlie in the sandbox. The boys hit up a new fishing spot while mom and I scouted out herbs, flowers and cushions for my patio - her treat!

My boys ordered me the most amazing outdoor dining table and chairs for the patio and added to my melamine dish collection! I'll be sure to take some patio shots soon!

This is right after I hooked myself with Charlie's lure.
Proud moment.

Zoo Trip

Charlie and I made a trip to the zoo with his little classmates recently.
There are 5 children in the class but two of the boys were with their sibling's classes for the day.
We had perfect temps, some sun and tons of fun!

I have so enjoyed seeing him learn and grow this year in Miss Terri's class. I love the reports he so eagerly gives me at dinner each night - starting out with who got time-out's, who was sick, what they had for snack and what they learned. His counting and alphabet are pretty much perfect and his shapes and colors are spot on. All you would hope from a first year of preschool. So proud of him!

The circus came to town.

Here are a few pictures of our recent trip to the circus...
Charlie's second, just for the record.

Highlights...

Elephant rides were $15.00 - that's right $15.00 (totally worth it - look at that boy)

He ate his way through cotton candy - took one bite and decided he didn't like it - and a snowcone - chose a light up laser gun for his toy. Not to self ... always take the grandparents to the circus! That night got real expensive... real quick.

Great night!
