Here are some pics I have been meaning to post for a while now.
Some before and afters if you will...

This is when we first were looking at the house...
the landscaping - we loved all the natural looking beds, but not all the weeds.
Since then we have had an amazing professional (not me) clean them up and re-mulch.
We are so happy with the way they have turned out.

This is a pic of Josh and Charlie I took in the beginning.
Notice the sweat on J's shirt,
he and my dad finally broke down and turned on the air last week!

And now

Floors in the Kitchen area, re-stained

My new pantry in the kitchen

Guest Bedroom ceiling after Josh removed the popcorn

And now after it is texturized and painted

So my dad and Josh have been hard at work as you can see... getting so close now!

Almost Nine Months...

So my baby boy is almost nine months old...

We had his nine month pediatrician visit last Monday and here are his stats.

Date 7/12/2010

Weight 23 lbs 12 oz (90-97th percentile)
Height 29 inches (75-90th percentile)

He is sooooo close to crawling, gets over that leg and then just hangs out on all fours. I am so ready and so NOT ready all at the same time.

We received a package today from Aunt Aggie... a new jumper that hangs in the door way. Twinkle toes loves it already. I'll post pics soon! Until then, good night!

Home Sweet Home...

I am quickly trying to start a post while chubs is down for a nap... in between my laundry switch overs! I am home from Atlanta after a whirlwind week. Barbie and I had a wonderful time. We stay at a swanky hotel and eat at swanky restaurants and meander through wonderful stores, but we also work. If you consider shopping for the store work. Really it's just the walking that get you.... showroom to showroom sorting through all the pretties wondering what your customer will want to buy for the upcoming season. We stumbled upon several new lines and had some continued success with some oldies but goodies. All in all it was a successful week! But man oh man was I ready to get home to those chubby chubby cheeks!

My dear husband had the house in tip top shape (of course) which makes it that much nicer to come home. Josh's mom and sister also came down for the week to assist and I CAN NOT thank them ENOUGH for everything they did. Not that I didn't have 100% faith in Josh watching Charlie while I was gone, it was just nice to know they were here to keep him company, and I am sure they had a great time getting their Charlie fill! Not only did they help out they packed boxes, did laundry, and spoiled Charlie Boy to the gills. I have just finished cutting off about 50 tags from some darling new outfits they brought and bought for Charlie during their visit! Too Cute! Thank you soooooooo much Nana Dawne and Aunt Monica, come back soon!

Also.... in other HUGE news, our house is UNDER CONTRACT! What a weight has been lifted! A couple who looked twice made us an offer on the 9th of this month and had their inspection last week, we haven't heard anything back so I am assuming it's a go. We close on the 27th of August and we couldn't be happier!

Josh has continued to put in LONG hours at the new house. He and my dad had a hard day yesterday staining the floors. They look great and totally change the look of the whole downstairs. I am so eager to move! Josh finished mudding the ceilings in the guest bedrooms last week and my dad was painting them today! Charlie's room is next, along with a coat of polyurethane to the floors. It is really starting to take shape. The landscapers came and mulched the front yard while I was gone and it makes such a difference.

This week is a quiet one and I couldn't be more pleased. Looking forward to cooking for my boys and nightly wagon rides. This is Charlie's last week of school for the summer! PDO is out for the month of August. Hope to be back with some pics of that growing boy soon!

July is here.

Hello to all, as I sit here and blog about what is new in Charlie Boy's life I can hear him breathing heavily in his room... I have a sicky boy tonight. I can't imagine he is getting another tooth but all signs are pointing toward just that, or maybe just a cold. Either way we have a snotty nose and a lot of coughing going on! His room smells like a Vicks Vapor Rub factory, I have it on his chest, his back and pumping at full blast out of the vaporizer. As if it isn't humid enough in Missouri in July I am sure the condensation in Charlie's nursery is off the charts right now. I have a wedge elevating his mattress as well but of course his head is at the other end facing the other way, boys I tell you!

He has slowed down on his eating as well, not that interested in much beside his bottle. He is more and more independent every day, totally content watching his shows and playing on his quilt with toys in the living room. We take a morning walk in the jogging stroller and nightly strolls with Dad and Gus in the wagon (more pics to come). We are totally soaking up these summer nights! Crawling is still on the brink... and he will pull up onto Josh and I but not on the furniture just yet. He will do a little scooting (backwards) if he needs to get to something, usually a toy or Gussy Boy. He and Gus are doing great together as well, something I am so thankful for!

Besides a dripping nose on sweet Charlie Boy, the Habel family is doing just fine. We have been busy busy around here. Last week was a busy one for me. Mom's Night out with the girls on Wednesday, I do love these dinners... it is so fun to listen around the table at everything these women who I am lucky enough to call my friends are going through! The trials a tribulations of becoming a new mom... so therapeutic these sessions end up being... with cocktails of course! Then Thursday we celebrated my good friend Sassy's birthday with the Provence Ladies at Barbie's house - Salad Supper and it was another wonderful night with another wonderful group of girls I am lucky enough to call friends!

Josh did some golfing on Friday and then Saturday we packed up and headed to Barbie and Brent's lake house. We had a wonderful time. Charlie LOVED the boat. It was a perfect day for him to be out on the water too, a little overcast and not that hot. We did some boating and jet skiing and then came in for a wonderful early dinner. Home by Charlie's bed time of course because we had to be rested for the 4th!

One of the best things about our new neighborhood is just that... it is an old fashioned neighborhood! We have always heard about the Oak Knoll 4th of July festivities and also their Big Halloween Celebration. So we took part in our first on Sunday. My mom brought up some patriotic decorations for Charlie's new wagon... that he absolutely adores.. thanks Aunt B! At 9:00 a.m. we all gathered in front of the new house for the parade. It was a blast and made Josh and I that much more anxious to get moved in.

We spent the evening of the 4th cooking out with friends and watching fireworks, Charlie and Josh spent some time in the pool that night as well. I tell you, that child is happiest in the water. He kicks around and isn't scared to dip his face right down in the water. It's a sight! Charlie had had a big day so we weren't actually awake during the big fireworks but Josh reported back that they were good! Charlie and I were in bed by 10:00 that night!

The new house is coming along quite well, with no thanks to me - but a ton of thanks to my overworked husband and father. Painting and painting away! It is coming together quite nicely. A progress report as of this week would be... Kitchen, hearth room, front hall, laundry walls (not cabinets yet) and front living room are all done! Josh is putting the cabinet doors back on in the kitchen tonight and then the shelves will go in. He has moved upstairs to mud the ceilings where the popcorn was removed. Next big step is staining the floors! We are shooting to move at the end of the month... keep your fingers crossed.

In old house news... still no offers but holding out for something good from a couple who has looked twice! What a blessing it would be to sell this house, we just love it and can't say enough good things about it. It has been such a great starter home for us, we are just busting at the seams! There is an open house here this weekend so maybe something good will come of that.

Friday night we are looking forward to a night out with friends, and then hopefully the rest of the weekend will be quiet. I am headed to Atlanta for market next week so I have a list of things to do before I head out. Josh's mom and sister are making the trip down to help out with Charlie which is so nice of them! I know Josh is really looking forward to it. I know I will miss all my boys but I do love market time and I know Charlie Boy will be in good hands.

Well, off to bed I go... resting up to keep up with that chubby bunny I love so much!
