River Weekend!

Here are the pics of our fun Father's Day family weekend at the River. Charlie had a wonderful time. Trying all kinds of new foods, splashing around in the river water that filled his pool, playing with the fish his daddy caught for him, snuggling with his aunt Aggie, and sleeping... man did he sleep, lots of naps and when we returned home on Sunday from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. the next morning!

My parents cabin is soooo relaxing, it is the perfect place to catch up on sleep and stuff yourself with delicious home made food until you think you are going to burst! We had a wonderful weekend and can't wait to make the another trip back!

Told you... very relaxing!

Eight Sweet Months

I can NOT believe my sweet baby boy is going to be eight months old tomorrow! Where is the time going, Josh and I both admit to holding him while he is sleeping just a little longer than we should just because we know these times will slip away! He is such a grabber now... wants to be in someone's lap at all times.

I am not sure what this little chunker is weighing in at these days but he is not missing many meals. I love every square inch of this little man. We went ahead and moved him up to a big boy car seat this month, thanks to Nana Dawne, and he seems to be much more comfortable in the car now! He is quickly growing out of his 6-12 month clothes as well! He has six of the most precious teeth you have ever seen. He loves to squeal when he is happy and just last week started da da da da da da da... too cute. Charlie is obsessed with his furry brother Gus and follows him with his eyes everywhere Gus goes. Still no crawling but he is up on his hands a lot more an rolling himself to his stomach more often to play. It is coming I know!

Here is an update on a day in the life of Charles Habel, June 2010

Between 7:00 - 7:30 a.m. he is waking up
8oz bottle for breakfast along with a combination of the following : yogurt, oatmeal, bananas, cheerios, egg with cheese or toast.

9:30 to 10:00 a.m. he is usually going down for a morning nap and will stay down for an hour sometimes longer

Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday we head to school at 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

11:00 a.m. is Lunch
Another 8 oz. bottle and another combo of mac and cheese (his new FAVORITE) carrots, peas, a slice of cheese and applesauce.

Lots of playtime

2:30 p.m. yet another 8 oz bottle and then shortly after... an afternoon nap that usually lasts another hour or two

Waking up for a 6 oz bottle at 5:30 followed by dinner that usually consists of torn up pieces of whatever I make for Josh and I.

A little more play time and then a bath - he loves the bath, lots of splashing and holding his hands under the faucet. This is such a fun age for the bath tub!

Last 8 oz bottle at 8 or 8:30 p.m. and then unwind for bed. Josh and I try to sing few songs and then lay him down to fall asleep on his own. After some squirming he usually is successful at putting himself to sleep.

So that's a day... rough I know right!

I know I will probably say this until he is 21 years old but this really is such a fun age. He recognizes us when we come into a room and will put his arms out for you to grab him up... I LOVE THIS. The other thing I selfishly love is when he cries for his momma .... It melts my heart when he doesn't want me to leave the room.

Happy Eight Month Birthday, Momma Loves you Charlie Boy! xo

Happy Father's Day!

We have had a wonderful weekend ... and a wonderful first father's day for this little family! We spent the weekend at the river house with my parents and a visit from Aunt Aggie! I am worn slick after all that relaxation... and I have lots of wonderful pics to post as well... another day!

Happy Happy Father's Day to two very special men... my dad and my Charlie's dad! I was so lucky to spent time with both of them today. My dad... where to start, he is a man after his own daughter's heart, one of the most giving and kind men to ever walk the face of this earth. Taught each one of us to be both a leader and a team player. I am forever grateful for the daily lessons this man has taught me and will continue to teach my son. We love you!

And my sweet sweet husband, happy 1st father's day! Each day I watch you become the father I knew you would always be! Charlie and I are so lucky to have you in our lives. You are a constant source of strength for me and a wonderful partner in this crazy journey they call parenthood. You are a wonderful wonderful father and Charlie is so lucky to have you!

This post is LOOONNNGGG overdue. I have so many wonderful pictures of this fabulous wedding weekend we were able to share last weekend.... I had trouble deciding which were best to post on the blog... but here they are, narrowed down a bit.

Like I said, we had the pleasure in sharing in such a fun weekend with family and friends to honor the wedding of my sweet sweet cousin Jamie and her new husband Jared. We had a wonderful time being together with everyone on the farm and here are a few of the highlights.

Another happy couple, my cousin Josie and her husband Giorgio.
And of course baby Luca, set to make his debut in September...
Charlie refused to hold still for the pic

Then the rain came

And kept coming...

And kept coming....

But finally it quit and cleared up to be a lovely night, perfect for a backyard reception!
I have to brag for a second... my ever so creative sister Aggie, along with my talented mother created (with the help of the bride) several of the wonderful design elements for the reception.
It turned out to be absolutely beautiful!

The next morning we met back on the farm... it was another scorcher so we filled a tub and made Charlie a pool. To cool him off even more we shared bites of our snow cones...
