Let me start this post by saying.... I started this post a week ago!!! Last Saturday, another crazy week where I have not had a lot of extra time...

So I have a lot to catch everyone up on... Since Aunt Aggie left we have been busy busy busy, I do love having family around as an extra set of hands and find myself spinning my wheels when they leave!

Last Friday night Josh and a friend road tripped up to St. Louis for a Cardinals game, had a great time and got home way too late for me in the middle of the night on Saturday. On Saturday night, it was my turn, my first night away from the little man I headed to the lake with the girls from the shop for an overnight girls trip. We had an amazing dinner, wonderful margaritas, fancy wine and a great (uninterrupted) nights sleep. I packed up and headed back on Sunday morning. Got home in time to give Charlie some lunch and do one last once over on the house before the open house that afternoon and pack back up for Broden Cantrell's birthday party at the zoo!

Kicking Back with Aunt Lindsey

We had such a fun time. Most of the friends who attended where older, Charlie didn't quite get the animal thing, he did get excited over the goats, but didn't pay much attention to the others. It was hot hot hot and the animals were stinky stinky stinky but we had a blast. Our open house went OK but still no bites.

Josh took the week off work to get a jump on the house, which by the way we closed on last Monday at 1:00 p.m. As a sit here and type this Saturday afternoon, I am impressed with everything he has already accomplished! Popcorn ceilings are no longer and all the floors are sanded and ready to be stained once the walls are painted. He has all the doors and hardware off the kitchen cabinets as well. My dad has been here to help as well and we are so lucky to have him!

Charlie was out of school last week for a break before summer session this week. That makes two weeks straight at home. I am sure he is ready to see his friends from school again! I have enjoyed having him home though, we don't have to rush quite as much in the morning. He is back to his old happy self as well this week which has been nice! He has had lots of fun babysitters keeping him entertained as well!

Last night we got together with friends for a BBQ and had a great time. Charlie sported his new Cardinals shirt Josh brought him back from St. Louis last weekend. Can you even believe how big he is?

We got up this morning and met Holly and Henry at the Farmer's Market, Charlie got a quick nap in while cruising in the stroller and I picked up some lovely flowers, asparagus, and some baked goods... I always leave with more floral and baked items than veggies... weird! This afternoon we headed out to Barbie and Brent's pool with Henry and Holly, the water was a little cold but we improvised with the little pool Charlie picked out at Babies R' Us this morning.

Our Aunt Aggie

We are all so sad... Aunt Aggie had to leave yesterday, we are however VERY HAPPY to announce she had to leave to pack up her things in Savannah, because she got her first "real" job! She is moving to Alabama to work as the visual coordinator at Anthropologie! We are SO proud of her and wish her nothing but the best... she is going to do great!

We did however really enjoy having her here, and secretly wish there was a way we could keep her all to ourselves! She was a great help last week... which was a long one for Mr. Charlie. We woke up on Saturday with pink eye! We had to miss Henry McGee's first bday party and we didn't get to make our overnight trip to Carthage. Instead, we settled for a day trip on Sunday and a week home from school! Charlie had a fever on and off all week and wasn't taking great naps or eating very well so we decided to keep him home. Thanks to Aggie and Jessica for making this work, and a volunteer shift by Miss Lauren (we love you). The pink eye cleared up by Tuesday but the fever and fussiness stayed around till Friday. We are back to our normal happy hungry self now though!

Here are a few more pics from Aggie's visit! Hurry Back! xo

We have had a biiiiggg weekend... more pics and another entry to come soon!

Gag Reflex

This is something that Josh and I get a kick out of each time we give sweet Charlie something new. I know we shouldn't laugh but he has never really choked, he just think he will. The following pics are cruel, I know but too funny not to capture.... his first experience with a Cheerio. Like I have said before... anytime we give him something with a new texture he acts like we are feeding him gravel. Here is a great sequence I shot last week!

Outside Fun

These are a few pictures of Charlie I have been meaning to post of Charlie playing outside. He Loves his swing!

So relaxed

My First Mother's Day was for sure one I will always remember. It started off on Thursday when I received a home made craft from Charlie he made at school. They had cut out the word mom and put a picture of his little head in the center of the "o". It was the most precious thing you have EVER seen.

Friday, I received some beautiful flowers at work from my boys and Saturday, Aggie and I got out and played Charlie's first Farmer's Market visit and some antiquing, I haven't been in so long! Oh Yeah, Aggie is in town and we are having a great time. She drove in late Friday night and has been loving on Charlie ever since.

Sunday, we all went to church and then had my parents up for dinner that evening. Josh grilled a wonderful dinner and my mom and I opened gifts, it was great.

Monday, my mom, Aggie and I packed Charlie up and headed to Sedalia to see my grandma Alice. It was nice to see her in her new surroundings. She seems to enjoy her new assisted living situation and she seemed to be doing great! Whitney and her twins were in town, along with Regan and her baby bump so it was great to see everyone and be together for the afternoon. We had a wild visit... six women, two 3 year olds, and a six month old... all in one studio apartment!

It's easy to see how much Grandma Alice LOVES Charlie! He really seems to get a kick out of her as well! These two are great friends and she was so proud to show him off! She really is the best and I am so glad she is getting to see Charlie on such a regular basis!

This week has been great with Aggie around. I love having a Jr. Mom.... Charlie does too! I have recruited her at my store for some much needed display help so she has been put to work! And the store has never looked better.

Tomorrow is my cousin Jamie's college graduation so we have some other family coming into town. I am excited to see them since it has been since March when we were all together last. Saturday is Henry McGee's first birthday party, and then Sunday I think Charlie and I will head to Carthage for the night.

Sweet Charlie... four teeth now and he is really into grinding them. It makes my skin crawl! We are finally grasping the concept of eating our puffs and cheerios instead of just pushing them around.

May... Already?

Happy Happy May everyone... where is the time going? And what did Josh and I do with all our free time before this little squirrel came into our lives? My days are PACKED to the gills with things, I find myself always 5 minutes behind, trying to carry tooo much and I am sure looking a little disheveled. Coming up on my first mother's day on Sunday, I wouldn't change it for the world!

This week has been a good one. The weather has just been amazing and Charlie and I have been on a walk every morning so far. I need to squeeze in a thank you to my friend Cindy Fulp who introduced me to the headphones that came with my IPhone. I am finally able to reconnect with so many I have gone so long without talking to! I love it.

We had a quiet weekend at home last weekend. My dad came to town on Friday to clean out the gutters at the new house. Oh how I love that man! We are pretty sure that particular task had not been performed in two years at least! He hung around for the afternoon to squeeze on his grandson of course and then we fed him dinner! My mom has been in Savannah with Aggie for a long weekend so he was home alone and happy to spend the day with us! He is so funny with Charlie, always wants to wake him up when he is sleeping and hold him when he is just fine playing by himself. I wouldn't expect anything else, he is a wonderful grandfather. I sometimes fear he is the grandfather that just talks everyone's ears off who will listen about his grandson though, my cousin Jessica reported back that he was telling a story in KC on Saturday and described Charlie as "incredible." Now I love my son, don't get me wrong but I am not sure he has accomplished much more than any other six month old, or anything to classify himself as incredible, just yet! We love you grandpa Dan!

There was an open house at our house on Sunday so we packed up and attended Charlie's first downtown ArtsFest. He did great. He seemed to love looking around at all the people as he sang and cooed his way down Walnut Street. We sat outside and had an early dinner and then came back to a quiet night at home.

This week has just breezed through and we have lots to look forward to. Charlie has a full month of Birthday Parties to attend and our Aunt Aggie is coming home on Friday. We can't wait! It will be so nice to have her in town for a little bit!

We are still scheduled to close on our new home on the 24th of May. I guess it hasn't all sunk in just yet, until we sell this house it doesn't all seem real I guess. I am thrilled though and can't wait to get out there!
