I am the worst. I can't believe it has been this long since I have written anything on here.
Spring has officially sprung and we are loving being out doors. Charlie scored an awesome outdoor swing from Josh's mom and Joe for Easter and we are putting it to good use. He LOVES it. Couldn't be happier when he is in it, often times he falls asleep in the sunshine while swinging. We have also been logging quite a few hours in the jogging stroller. Josh does the jogging, I just stick with walking.
Spring is a season of change... and the Habel family is sure playing along... The week before Easter I came across a house on the internet that I instantly fell in love with. We met a realtor that afternoon to do a walk through and I couldn't sleep for the rest of the weekend. I had to have it... I had already mentally moved us in, furniture, paint colors the whole bit... I inherited that disease from my mother by the way. So Josh and I talked, and prayed a lot, and decided to take a risk and go for it... we listed our house and started the madness. Our original plan was to make an offer on contingency of our house selling, but another couple became interested in the house and so the bidding war began. Long story short we are the proud owners of two homes in Springfield at this time, hopefully not for long. Clearly, we pulled the contingent offer and just moved forward. We really did get a great deal on the house and Josh and I can't wait to get started on making it our home! It is a great upgrade size wise and a house we can see ourselves in for at least the next 10-20 years.
In the mean time, we have a great little three BR 1 1/2 bath available on Seminole if you know of anyone who might be interested!
Charlie, Charlie, Charlie... where to begin? This little monkey is all about change as well. He is working on his third tooth. This child is going to have a full set of teeth by his first b-day at this rate. Upper left this time and it is giving him some trouble. We were up a few times this weekend during the night, but I think we are back to normal now.
He is eating his way through the green vegetables now. We conquered the yellow already, squash coming out on top as our favorite so far. Loves oatmeal for breakfast and has given it all a pretty good try. The new textures are what hang him up in the beginning, Josh and I love the gag reflex though, you would think we are feeding him gravel the way he reacts. I am making his baby food now which I highly recommend. Cuts out the preservatives and is a great money saver as well. He is still eating almost 40 ounces a day in formula as well. Our pediatrician would like to see this reduced down to 24-32 but when I tried he didn't sleep through the night. So the way I look at it, unless she is going to come over at four a.m. and get him back down, he's getting 40 ounces a day!
We had his six month appointment last Monday and he is still falling in that 75-90th percentile on weight and height. 19.2 pounds and 27 and 1/4 inches. He got a great report and several more shots. He whaled through them but then calmed right down when they were done.
He is sitting on his own as well... this has just come about in the last week. We still prop him with the boppy pillow just in case but he is really doing well with his balance.
He brings so much joy to our days and I am not sure what we did before we had him. Love that little guy!
