Looking forward to February.
We got several inches of snow on Thursday night into Friday morning, it really was beautiful. Charlie and I enjoyed a snow day at home and it was wonderful... we lounged and played all day while we watched the snow fall.
Yesterday, I worked and Josh and Charlie attended William Ross's first birthday party. Fun was had by all I am sure. Josh cheered on UNI as they were in town for basketball against MSU yesterday afternoon and then we had a charity event last night, busy weekend! We have been indoors most of the day except our trip to Babies R'Us to pick Charlie up an early Valentine's Day gift a jumping Baby Einstein toy! He has to be propped in with a few blankets still but he really enjoys the green frog you spin around. His hand eye coordination is really coming along.
Josh and I just sit and stare at him sometimes... Sunday's really are my favorite day of the week. I can't imagine what we did before Charlie.
Lot's to look forward to this month. I am going to be busy busy busy with Stella and Dot Spring Trunk Shows!! I am obsessed with the new 2010 line and can't wait to host my first party this weekend! Everyone should check it out... www.stelladot.com ... drop me an email if there is anything you are interested in!
Saturday we will head to Carthage to attend a baby shower for my dear friend Margeaux's older sister. Jacquelyn is expecting twins in the Spring and of course Margeaux is making the trip home, I can't wait for her to meet Charlie.
The following weekend we will make our first trip up North to Iowa. Pray for a smooth one. If anyone has any traveling advice... please pass along, we are open to anything!
The last weekend of the month Aggie and Lucy are flying home... and then March! Can't believe it... I am so ready for Spring though... long walks with my Charlie sound so nice right now!

Dinner at Henry's House
January 2010
So much to catch everyone up on. So sorry it has been so long since my last post. We survived our first holiday season. Lot's of wonderful time with family and friends as you can see from all the pics. We capped 2009 off with a fun family friendly party at our good friends the Buzbee's house. A prime rib dinner and lots of laughs. We were home by 11:30 and in Charlie's nursery giving him a bottle when the clock struck 12:00. I couldn't imagine a more perfect way to ring in the new year.
Since then...
Charlie is smiling and cooing all the time. I love to hear his little voice and his different reactions to the words we imitate back to him.
He has started to arch his back which makes me thinking rolling over is in our near future.
He tries so hard to find his thumb, my mom says it is worth all the orthodontics bills we will be faced with in the future, and I guess she would know.
I have started back to work, it is bittersweet for sure. I LOVE LOVE LOVE his school and his teachers and know he is NOT lacking for attention during his time there. It is in our church, he is with lots of his friends, and he is the youngest and the last cuddly baby so they practically fight over him when I drop him off. So far so good on the scheduling as well. Josh picks him up on Tuesday and Thursday, and says it is the best part of his day. And my dear cousin Jessica fills in on Wednesday. I don't know what we would do without her! She is really the best. We love you Jess!
It is so fun as he becomes more and more aware of his surroundings every day. He loves his play mat and the mobile on his swing. He is starting to grip things with his hands and loves to touch and explore different objects, especially our hands.
We are getting more sleep as well. Still up once in the night, always between three and four in the morning. He eats, gets his diaper changed, we rock and sing a song and he is right back down. I get closer and closer to feeling human every day! He is up daily at 7:30. He will eat, we play and then he lounges in the swing, watching Nick Jr. while I get ready. He LOVES Nick Jr. and really pays attention (until he passes out) to the colors and light.
I'm sure there are several things I am forgetting, he changes so much daily. We are truly loving every minute of it though!

A Christmas Surprise for Josh
So it's been a while since an update and I am sorry. 2010 has been a busy one so far. Before I get into that though I better update everyone with the rest of our Christmas memories. Better late than never...
The morning of the 26th we loaded up in KC and said our goodbyes. Back on the road, still snowing as we started out. The car a bit heavier with gifts we had received. We had a great time in KC and Charlie slept so well, right through the night at Regan's in one of the twins old pack and plays.
Right behind us headed South were Josh's mother and Joe who brought along a few surprises for Josh, Grandpa Gordie and Grandma Rosie. He was really surprised and anxious for the rest of his family to meet little Charlie. We had a great meal and opened more wonderful gifts that night. We really appreciated them making the trip down as it would have just been too much for us this year. It was another great day filled with family, here are a few pics.
Meeting Aunt Janeen
Josh and I also had the opportunity to visit with a very special friend, Janeen, that night. She was in town from MD Anderson for the holiday and it was such a blessing to hug her tight. She is making such wonderful progress and we are all so proud of her. Can't wait for her return back to Springfield... Several of our friends were also visiting her that night and it was great to catch up. Charlie has so many older friends to show him the ropes, a lot to learn I am sure.
